BBC World News has commissioned a new 8x30 series The Ideas Exchange that will premiere on the channel on 1st September 2012. The Ideas Exchange is produced by Gogglebox Entertainment and sponsored by HSBC.

In the series, two global business leaders from around the world meet to discuss today’s business landscape, the secrets of success and the effect that their personal lives have had on their professional careers. Travelling to cities such as Beijing, Madrid, London, Addis Ababa, São Paulo and New York, and highlighting expertise in industries from pharmaceuticals to telecom, The Ideas Exchange will give BBC World News viewers a unique insight into the minds that shape global business today.

The pairs teamed up to reveal their career highs and lows include;
. JørgenVig Knudstorp, CEO of Lego, with Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu, founder and managing director of eco-sensitive shoe company SoleRebels;
. Sir Martin Sorrell, leader of the world’s largest marketing services and advertising groups WPP, with billionaire Sunil Mittal, founder of world-class businesses in telecom, financial services, retail and foods.
. Telecoms entrepreneur Martin Varsavsky with Shanghai-based fashion manufacturer Carlos Moncayo;
. Australian lifestyle brand innovator Dare Jennings with billionaire Ajay Piramal, leader of global pharmaceutical conglomerate Piramal.
