THE UNSEEN FRANKIE HOWERD

The life and work of legendary comic Frankie Howerd is celebrated in this intimate portrait for Channel 4 that features a host of never-before-seen footage.

This 90-minute Gogglebox Entertainment documentary features clips from Howerd’s classic shows alongside professional and personal archive footage.

Pilots, home-movie footage and unseen material from his live stand-up shows are included in the programme, set to be broadcast at the end of 2012 on Channel 4

The Unseen Frankie Howerd also looks at Howerd’s extensive collection of correspondence, including exchanges with Sir Laurence Olivier, as well as featuring unique access to Frankie’s home, much of which remains untouched since he lived there.

The film also features interviews with Howerd’s famous fans and the people who were closest to him, including his agent and collaborators.
